your lifepath revealed through the stars...

What is astrology? As the name implies, is it merely a study of the stars? The history of astrology has its basis in the science of astronomy. Great astronomers of the past were also well-practiced astrologers and gave astrological predictions to the kings and queens of their times. Today, many view the art of astrology as merely a form of entertainment, something with no scientific rationale and therefore, not to be taken seriously. However, astrology is a very precise science which takes into account the positions of the planets in relation to the earth at any given time at any given place at the time of birth. The gravitational effect of the planets varies depending on the location and time. The moment of birth marks an individual's first time as a separate entity, taking in its first breath of air at that moment. The planetary effects on the cellular and spiritual make-up of this newborn have lifelong influences. Understanding what role your birth place and time (no two are exactly alike!) will help you to better understand your strengths, weaknesses, and characteristics as you embark on your journey into self-discovery.

Most people are familiar with the daily horoscopes they read in the newspaper. These are a gross generalization of astrological influences, as they take into account only one planet's effect and do not take into account time of birth or birthplace. The horoscopes you encounter are based on the Sun signs, the signs we most commonly associate with the zodiac. Since the Sun is such a powerful influence, it tends to dominate the characteristics bestowed at the time of birth. There are many other influential planets which collaborate to define the overall personality, making it unique to each individual.

A horoscope based on a Sun sign alone may tell of general trends to watch for in the coming days. A more detailed horoscope based on your individual circumstances at birth, called a Natal Chart, can give insight into personality traits specific to an individual. A Progression Chart, shows how the planets affect a person at any given day beyond the time of birth, such as is done with the daily horoscope. A Synastry Chart compares the Natal Charts of two individuals to determine how they interact with one another, such as with business partners, family members, spouses, or love interests. These charts are useful to analyze personality traits, help to point out weaknesses and strengths, and give insight to assist in spiritual and personal growth.
